Be aware that the new deadline rule applies to ALL deadlines and means the date that paperwork is due in the Extension Office.

Weigh-in at Eickman's in Seward on Wednesday, August 9 at 7 a.m.

Evaluation on Friday, August 11 at Eickman's in Seward at 11 a.m.

TROPHY DONORS NEEDED!

We are desperately in need of donors in the following trophy areas:

CAT DOG GOAT HORSE POULTRY RABBIT SHEEP SWINE

Number needed: 3 Cat - 15 Dog - 4 Goat - 20 Horse - 2 Poultry - 10 Rabbit - 10 Sheep - 2 Swine

We also need MANY trophy donations in the Non Livestock Area.

You may want to donate in your particular showing area (i.e. cat, horse, etc.). The sooner you request and pay for your trophy the more choice you will have as to which one is yours!

Trophies are $20 each.

HORSE PAPERS DUE:

All 4-H horse project members who plan to show at the State 4-H horse show must file their registration forms, lease agreements, and 2 photos (from each side) of the horse at the Extension office by May 1. This is a state-mandated deadline, which we expect you to follow. THANKS! If you are only showing at our county horse show, you only need to turn in papers if your horse is leased. If you need forms, please call the Extension office. You have plenty of time to fill these forms out and get them back to the Extension office by May 1.

SWINE NEWS

All exhibitors showing any swine must be Pork Quality Certification Level III certified. This applies to each individual exhibitor–"farm" certifications are not acceptable. PQA certification is required every year!

April 2nd is the ONLY Winnebago County clinic. RSVP for Winnebago training by March 24.

PQA is now also available on CD. The CD course must be completed and the TEMPORARY certificate submitted to the Extension Office by May 1. Call your leader for info or details.
