Williamson County Office

Williamson County Extension provides educational information to the citizens of the county helping them to succeed.

The Extension office is located at 1306 N. Atchison Avenue in Marion, IL. Extension is an outreach of University of Illinois providing education to people throughout the state.

Williamson County Extension staff this past program year increased individual contacts by 70%. The web page is updated weekly with timely information about programs, newsletters and news releases. The Williamson County web page increased hits by 77% for the past program year.

A weekly column is included in the Thursday edition of the Marion Daily. Other local media contacts include The Little Paper, The Weekly Review, Courier, The Independent, and Farm Bureau carry meetings, announcements, news releases and special interviews weekly or monthly with Extension staff. There were 230 news releases sent to media throughout the year.

Monthly newsletters are available upon request on many different topics such as agriculture, horticulture, youth and nutrition.

The office staff helps county residents answer many questions throughout the year. Questions
