Each New Year for many is a time to make resolutions for improving their lives. Everyone always has the best of intentions to loose weight, exercise more, eat healthier and the list is endless. I am one who believes you don't need to be real serious with resolutions. So the following is my top 10 resolutions for gardeners this 2008 new year. I hope you can smile and maybe laugh. Happy New Year!
10. I resolve to buy my local fair entry at the farmer's market. The garden club will never know.
9. I resolve to exercise more – in my dreams.
8. I resolve to not pull weeds because they are part of the natural garden.
7. I resolve to give gardening advice to my neighbor since I don't really like silk flowers.
6. I resolve to allow the moles in my lawn to continue their artistic design. I know they are alien communicators.
5. I resolve to take care of a neglected garden – my own.
4. I resolve to get in gardening shape by going to the gym at least once a week. The parking lot there is nice for eating my fast food lunch.
3. I resolve to thank my neighbor for fertilizing my lawn – as she walks her dog.
2. I resolve to sharpen and oil my garden tools. They will look better on the wall.
1. A serious one; I resolve to call my location Extension office with my garden questions at 993-3304.
