Horticulture & Environment
The Whiteside Extension Unit provides a Master Gardening program for individuals who have an interest in learning more about gardening. This intensive program is offered every two years. Master Gardeners are utilized to help answer questions from local residents and participate in several community service projects throughout the county. Subjects taught at the Master Gardener training:

  • Woody Ornamentals & Plant Selection
  • Turfgrass
  • Houseplants
  • Fruits
  • Herbaceous Ornamentals
