Master Gardener Projects

Master Gardener Projects

The Vermilion County Master Gardeners have established many projects that require their on-going volunteer time. Some of these include:

-Community Gardens

With a vision of offering hands-on learning to the general public, Master Gardeners developed different types of gardens in Vermilion County. The gardens give residents a place to learn about plants that do well in Vermilion County, as well as a chance to see different gardening techniques and methods. Maintenance and expansion of the gardens depends on the ideas and efforts of the Master Gardeners.

-Tuesday Night Gardening Classes

Year-round gardening classes for home gardeners are given by the Master Gardeners. Timely topics and hands-on demonstrations give residents a convenient, reliable way to get their gardening questions answered.

-Speakers' Bureau

A willing group of Master Gardeners who enjoy sharing their knowledge with young and old alike. They give presentations to schools, clubs, and organizations in the area.

For more information about any of these projects and any others the Master Gardeners offer, please contact our office.
