A. First Year 4-H members. 1. Any first year 4-H member, regardless of age, who has shown outstanding involvement. 2. Nominate on PINK form and submit appropriate award application. 3. Award to top 10 in county.
B. First Year Dairy Members 1. Any 4-H member enrolled in the dairy project for the first time who has shown outstanding involvement, regardless of age. 2. Nominate on PINK form and submit appropriate award application. 3. Award to top 10 in county.
C. First Year Clothing Members 1. Any 4-H member enrolled in the clothing project for the first time who has shown outstanding involvement, regardless of age. 2. Nominate on PINK form and submit appropriate award application. 3. Award to top 10 in county.
D. Second Year Clothing members 1. Any 4-H member enrolled in the clothing project for the 2nd time who has shown outstanding involvement, regardless of age. 2. Nominate on PINK form and submit appropriate award application. 3. Award to top 5 in county.
E. "I Dare You" Leadership Award 1. The "I Dare You" Leadership Award is not a contest or competition. Each county is asked to select four nominees. The award should be provided to High School Juniors or Seniors without regard to race, sex, religion, or national origin. This award is offered as recognition for personal integrity, balanced living, a proven willingness to learn, and motivation for leadership. Please nominate individuals who have exhibited leadership, but with encouragement would excel as a future leader. 2. Nominate on PINK sheet and submit appropriate award applications. 3. Award - "I Dare You" book and certificate.
F. Illinois 4-H Key Award 1. To meet all nine (9) criteria on Stephenson County Standard of Excellence checklist form - for two years. 2. Nominate 4-H member(s) on PINK sheet.
G. Top 4-H'er Award (Top 2 4-H'ers in the county) 1. The following criteria will be considered. a. Number of years in 4-H. b. Member's 4-H Story in Achievement. c. Career Focus award application. d. Involvement in 4-H e. Additional Award Criteria (see attached page) - confidential evaluation by Extension Staff-4-H'er must ask an Extension Staff member to fill out the additional criteria form prior to judging 2. Nominate member on PINK form. 3. Award - 2 watches given annually.
H. Club Secretary Award 1. All county 4-H club secretaries are eligible. Stephenson County 4-H program requires that clubs turn in their club Secretary book to be reviewed with the Treasurer's audit. 2. Nominate on PINK form, and submit the completed Secretary's Book. 3. Award will be given to top secretary.
I. Club Treasurer's Award 1. State 4-H Program mandates that all county 4-H club treasurers must turn in Club Treasurer's Book for county audit. 2. See "Eight Steps to Fiscal Success" for more guidelines. 3. Nominate on PINK form, and submit the completed Treasurer's Book. 4. Award will be given to top treasurer.
J. Club Scrapbook Award 1. All county 4-H Clubs are eligible. 2. Nominate on PINK form and submit club scrapbook. 3. Award - Certificates and prizes will be awarded for the top large and small club. Certificates of participation will be awarded to all clubs who have submitted a scrapbook.
K. 4-H Club of the Year - Small and Large 1. Large club - 25 or more members; small club 24 or below members. 2. All Stephenson County 4-H Clubs are eligible. 3. The selection of the clubs of the year will be based on a point system. 4. Certificate to club for club party.
L. 4-H Officer Team of the Year Award 1. The Officer Team of the Year nomination form must be completed by a leader, parent, 4-H'er, or other 4-H related adult. This nomination must show the Officer Team's contribution to the 4-H Club/Group and demonstrate the Officer Team's ability to lead and promote club activities/events. All or none of the officers in the club must be nominated. 2. Award will be given to the top 4-H Officer Team of the Year. 3. Nominations must be received by Award Application Check-in.
M. 4-H Leader Team of the Year Award 1. The 4-H Leader Team of the Year Award must be completed by a leader, parent, 4-H'er, or other 4-H related adult. This nomination must show the Leader Team's contribution to the 4-H Club/Group and demonstrate their ability to lead while developing young leaders, to motivate members to participate, to encourage the "youth-run" philosophy, and to promote county, state, and national involvement. 2. Award will be given to the top 4-H Leader Team of the Year 3. Nominations must be received by Award Application Check-in.
N. 4-H Alumni Award 1. Any 4-H alumnus who you feel has shown support and/or leadership for the Stephenson County 4-H program. 2. Nominate on PINK sheet and submit a WHITE Stephenson County Alumni nomination form. 3. Award - 4-H Alumni medal.
O. 4-H Family of the Year 1. Any 4-H family that has shown outstanding 4-H involvement and leadership in the county. 2. Nomination on PINK sheet and submit county application form. 3. Award will be given to the top 4-H Family of the Year.
P. 4-H Volunteer of the Year 1. The Volunteer of the Year Nomination Form must be completed by a leader, parent, or other 4-H related adult, showing the volunteer's support of 4-H and Extension programs. 2. Award will be given to the top Volunteer of the Year. 3. Nomination must be received by Award Application Check-in..
Q. 4-H Youth Volunteer of the Year Award 1. The Youth Volunteer of the Year Nomination Form must be completed by a leader, parent, or other 4-H related adult, showing the youth volunteer's support of 4-H and Extension programs. 2. Award will be given to the top Youth Volunteer of the Year. 3. Nominations must be received by Award Applications Check-in
R. Special Recognition Volunteer Award 1. Any 4-H volunteer is eligible. 2. Recommendation/nomination must be made by a 4-H'er or child of a volunteer, by submitting a letter of recommendation showing the volunteer's support of 4-H and Extension programs. 3. Award will be given to the top volunteer nominated for this award, and will be given at he Volunteer Banquet. 4. Recommendation must be received by Award Application Check-in.
S. Electricity Award 1. Member should have constructed and displayed an electrical exhibit at General Projects Day. 2. 4-H member Award Application with a 4-H Story in Electricity and the 4-H IEC Electricity Award form will both be reviewed. 3. State awarded Electricity Achievement plaque will be given at Achievement Night. 4. 4-H member(s) may receive this award only once.
T. Top Ten Beef Awards 1. Member must have beef, either Purebred or Crossbred. 2. Member must meet Standards of Excellence requirements. 3. 4-H member award application with 4-H Story in Animal Sciences will be reviewed. 4. A 70-point minimum on award application is required. 5. Must be at least a 2nd year member in beef. 6. The Stephenson County Beef Association will award a trophy to the top ten 4-H'ers in beef meeting the above criteria. Award may be received more than once.
U. Most Improved Youth in Equine 1. Member must have a horse, and be at least a 2nd year member in the horse project. 2. Member must meet Standards of Excellence requirements. 3. 4-H member award application with 4-H Story in Animal Sciences will be reviewed; must have a minimum of 70 points. 4. Two awards will be given to the Most Improved Youth in Equine meeting the above criteria; trophy is sponsored by 4-H Foundation.
V. Top Five Swine Awards 1. Member must have swine, either Purebred or Crossbred. 2. Member must meet Standards of Excellence requirements. 3. 4-H member award application with 4-H story in Animal Sciences will be reviewed. 4. Stephenson County Pork Producers will award $10 each to the top (5) 4-H'ers in swine, who meet the above criteria. 5. This award may be received more than once.
