The Illinois 4-H Livestock Skill-a-thon Team placed 8th overall at the 2005 National 4-H Skillathon Contest held November 14 at the North American International Livestock Exposition in Louisville, Kentucky.

Team members competed individually and as a team in identification of equipment, breeds, meats, feeds; evaluation of meats, hay, wool, breeding selection and performance data; and Quality Assurance.

The Illinois team placed second in the Evaluation category and team member, Dan Hartman, placed third individually. Team members are selected from the Illinois Superior Young Producers winners at the Illinois State Fair. The Illinois 4-H Foundation sponsored the team’s contest trip to Louisville.
