This inter-generational kit provides hands-on activities for students to experience characteristics that may be experienced by older adults. Activities simulate vision loss, less mobility of limbs, and hearing loss. The teacher/leader manual utilizes the kit components: gloves, yellow glasses, audiotapes, etc. to simulate the aging process. Accompanying activities are designed to develop communication skills with older people.

Use these materials as part of a diversity theme or before visiting nursing homes or interacting with seniors in the classroom. Your local senior center may be willing to cooperate.
