Life Skills: Polite is Right

This curriculum is designed to teach children social skills and encourage the use of considerate behavior in social settings. Students will understand why rules and customs are important. They will develop specific skills and behaviors consistent with these rules and customs through role playing and practicing various situations on the telephone, in public places, and at home.

There are six lessons in the recently updated curriculum: Rules Help Us, Respecting Others, Put Your Best Foot Forward, Mealtime Manners, Good Sportsmanship, and Electronic Manners. Use all six lessons, or focus on just one area. IL Learning Standards information is available. The 20-minute video It's Just Good Manners will also be sent when this curriculum is requested.
