4-H Members
Recognition, Awards and Scholarships
Recognition and awards have always been an important part of the Illinois 4-H Program. The University of Illinois Extension Recognition for Excellence program is available for individual members and 4-H clubs/groups to be recognized for participating in or accomplishing a variety of skills and task. There are four levels of involvement in the Recognition for Excellence program:
- Recognition for Participation – Recognition is offered to those who participate in the 4-H program, members and clubs/groups, on a local level.
- Recognition for Progress Towards Goals – Recognition is available to members and clubs/groups who set and achieve project and/or program goals on a local level.
- Recognition for Achievement of Standards – Members and clubs/groups that meet specific standards may be presented with recognition on a county/unit level.
- Recognition for Competition – Individual members and 4-H clubs/groups can compete for various types of awards and scholarships.
Your local Extension unit may participate in any or all of these levels. Talk to your 4-H leader and/or local University of Illinois Extension staff for more information.
