Jeff Franklin is the prevention educator for University of Illinois Extension in Jackson County. His academic degrees are from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. He holds a master's degree in education and a bachelor's in administration of justice.

Franklin specializes in the areas of Coordinated School Health Education; Social and Emotional Leanring; Bullying Prevention; Personal Safety and Abuse Prevention; HIV/AIDS prevention; and Character Education. He offers programs to students, parents, teachers and community groups.

Franklin is a member of the Illinois Extension Professionals for Youth Education and the National Association of Extension 4-H Agents.

He serves on the board of directors for the local United Way and the Makanda Township Board of Directors.
