Description: 10am-11:30am U and I Aware of Breast Cancer Presented by: Dedra Ries, Community Health 12:30pm-2:00pm The Growing Connection Presented by: Ronald Wolford,Urban Ag & Natural Resources 2:15pm-3:45pm Food Safety:What is happening to the food supply? Presented by: Drusilla Banks, Nutrition and Food This series of one-day professional development conferences has been designed especially to meet the needs of professionals that work with youth, adults, and families with limited resources. This conference includes programs in the areas of: • Community Health • Community and Economic Development • Consumer and Family Sciences • Family Life • Food Science • Nutrition and Wellness • Urban Horticulture and Natural Resources • Youth Development. These workshops will provide participants with some of the latest research based information and resources as related to the above program areas. The workshops series is suitable for program directors, administrators, social workers, staff, and volunteers of social service organizations, elementary and secondary schools, youth centers, shelters, faith based organizations, and other community based organizations that provide direct services to youth, adults and families. As a result of attending this conference participants will: •Learn essential information and skills relevant to working with limited resource populations •Learn practical, easy-to-use activities that will enhance their work with limited resource populations •Increase their awareness of curricula, trainings and other resources offered by University of Illinois Extension professionals University of Illinois Extension has been approved to provide professional development credits from: •Illinois Department of Professional Regulations •Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) Conference Registration Fees: $10 per participant/per one-day session $50 per participant for the entire six-session series Registration fee includes training materials and lunch. An additional fee of $10.00 per session will be assessed for each participant that wishes to receive continuing education credits. Certificates of Attendance will be distributed for continuing education credits.
