Shelby County HCE Takes Their Annual Meeting "On the Road!"

In honor of Lincoln's 200th birthday and HCE's theme for 2009, on June 9th Shelby County HCE took their Annual meeting "on the road" to Springfield, Illinois and the Lincoln Museum. The board chartered a bus and obtained tickets for the museum. The 39 members who attended toured the Lincoln Museum and some went across the street to the Lincoln Library, too. After lunch at Benigan's, the members took a bus tour of the city and the botanical gardens, and then visited Lincoln's Tomb. Enroute home on the bus, President Kim Mathias, and board members, Wanda Brooks and Debbie Borries led the annual meeting. At the end of the business meeting, Wanda covered the answers for the fun quizzes she had given to members, and prizes were awarded. All members attending received a pink "First Lady" mug.
