4-H Club Leader
Inspire the Next Generation – Become a 4-H Leader!
Do you have couple of hours a month to inspire the life of a child?
University of Illinois Extension, Rock Island County 4-H is seeking volunteers interested in youth leadership. We need adult leaders to organize 4-H Clubs in the Illinois Quad Cities beginning in September. 4-H is an important community program that lets kids ages 5 – 18 "learn by doing". It's a great opportunity for volunteers to share their talents, skills and interests inspiring the next generation. Club leaders enjoy the flexibility of setting their Club's meeting schedule and can even choose the location – whether it's at a home, school, church or other community center. A typical 4-H Club meets once a month for about 2 hours. At club meetings youth may work on projects (there are more than 200 projects to explore and exhibit at the Rock Island County Fair), play games, share presentations, have a party, take a field trip and more. It's an ideal opportunity for parents to spend quality time with their kids while guiding their children's peers, classmates and friends in exciting opportunities. There are many options to choose from – you can be a co-leader with a friend, join with other parents and take turns organizing the monthly meeting. If you prefer, you can even choose a theme (like sports or art, or animals, etc.) to concentrate on -- the ideas are endless. University of Illinois Extension 4-H provides new leader orientation, program ideas and personal assistance to ensure success.
