Program Offerings

EFNEP–Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program

  • The EFNEP offers educational programs in:

    Basic Nutrition
    Food Safety
    Food Budgeting
    Food Preparation

  • Delivery Method:

    Education in the four areas is offered to participants in the program individually or in groups. Extension personnel deliver instruction in the home.

  • Targeted Audience:

    Low-income individuals, who are pregnant, have infants, or have school age children who live at home.

FNP–Family Nutrition Program

  • FNP offers programs in:

    Basic Nutrition
    Food Safety
    Food Budgeting

  • Delivery Method

    Education is offered in the three areas in a group setting. Hands-on nutrition demonstrations are the primary vehicle for instruction.

  • Targeted audiences: Individuals of all ages who are classified as low income and not covered by the EFNEP program. Participants are typically found in:
    • Pre-schools
    • Elementary Schools
    • Middle, Junior High and High Schools
    • Senior Housing
    • Nursing Homes
    • Food Pantries
