Giving to Rock Island County Extension

Rock Island County 4-H is one of the finest examples of the important role University of Illinois Extension plays in the enrichment of our community. Organizing the tremendous youth program, funding the administrative costs, hiring the passionate staff, and managing the magnificent leaders ensures that today's youth can advance in life through 4-H programs.

As you know, the 4-H community opens doors for our young people. Once they step over those thresholds, they view the world around them from a new perspective. Their minds are stimulated; their imaginations run free. They embrace the best of their youthful spirits – making friends, having fun and learning skills that will last a lifetime.

4-H Youth pledge their head, heart, hands and health to a better world, a better community and a better tomorrow. This pledge is the foundation of 4-H.

The Rock Island County Extension & 4-H Education Foundation is also looking to the future. The Foundation is the local fundraising arm for Rock Island County Extension. It is made up of a volunteer Board of Directors who is committed to building the funds necessary to guarantee the security of the important 4-H program, despite cuts in state and federal funds. The Foundation actively seeks grants for 4-H programs, distributes funds for program expansion and scholarships and is working to build an endowment for sustainability. The Foundation can provide 4-H with immediate help – whether it's for supplies for a program, scholarships for youth, fees for training, or other essential requests – the Foundation is here to enable Rock Island County Extension staff and volunteers to meet the needs of their programs and our community.
