Students will have the opportunity to learn many different aspects of corn. They will be able to complete hands-on activities that will help them understand about the growing and usefulness of corn. Within these lessons, students will:

• Construct a paper model of the corn plant, using paper
• Identify the parts of the corn plant and determine their purpose
• Demonstrate the effects of gravity on the roots of corn plants
• Plant corn, squash, or beans
• Measure the height of different items within the classroom
• Determine which continents of the world grow corn
• Create a list of products they believe have corn as an ingredient within them
• Determine if certain products contain corn as an ingredient
