Hands-on activities will help students of all ages learn about water and the water cycle. The students will learn about the importance of water, and how pollutants can affect water. "Give Water a Hand" are supplementary lessons in which helping others is stressed through a community service project. The option of "Storm Drain Stenciling" is also available for those classrooms interested in community service. Within the water lessons, students will:
- Learn that plants and animals need water to survive
- Investigate the three states of water
- Learn about the surface tension of water and how plants "drink"
- Think about the water cycle
- Learn the difference between weather and climate
- Learn about the adaptations plants have to collect, release, and conserve water
- Discuss water quality and water pollution
- Discuss how humans impact fresh water resources
