Producers, agriculture dealers, and consultants are reminded of the 2008 Illinois Crop Protection Technology Conference and the University of Illinois Corn & Soybean Classics. Each of these different events, held during January, will provide useful and timely information for the 2008 growing season.

The Crop Protection Technology Conference, held January 9 and 10 at the Illini Union in Urbana, will consist of five symposia: high-production soybean management, managing nutrients and water quality, pest resistance and resistance management, "IPM in the crosshairs", and high-production corn management. The program is designed to address both current and near-future issues in crop protection and production.

Further information on the Conference, including online registration, can be found at this web site http://www.ipm.uiuc.edu/conferences/cptc/ Questions about the Conference can be directed to Sandy Osterbur, phone 800-321-1296.

University of Illinois Corn & Soybean Classics are day-long programs (9 am to 3:30 pm) held at five locations across Illinois the week of January 14. Nine different speakers will focus on crop production, pest management, economics, and the interaction among them. Question and answer sessions are scheduled for both the morning and afternoon.

Dates and locations are January 14, Whittington; January 15, Springfield; January 16, Moline; January 17, Malta; and January 18, Bloomington. Registration and further information on the Corn & Soybean Classics can be found at this web site http://www.ipm.uiuc.edu/conferences/csc/index.html Questions about the Corn & Soybean Classics can be directed to Aaron Hager, phone 217-333-4424.

Mark your calendar and make plans to attend one or both of these educational programs.
