Master Gardeners receive sixty hours of training from January through
March. Once trained, these volunteers give time in a variety of ways, such as
answering gardening questions, designing and operating exhibits, displays and
demonstrations. They also have an opportunity to make presentations to groups
requesting gardening programs and workshops; to work with 4-H clubs; or to
assist with community service projects. Commitment includes successful
completion of a twelve-week training program, a minimum of sixty hours of
volunteer service the first year and a minimum of thirty hours each following
year. Applications are available at the Extension Office.
