Leadership Development through Community Action

This service-learning curriculum involves youth and adults working together to make a difference in their community. It is based on a model that begins with understanding self and the group youth work with before moving on to explore their community and issues of concern to those in it. They can select an issue they want to address and plan a project to impact the issue. After evaluating their ?results and process,? they decide on future individual or group action. The seven-module curriculum includes 30 lessons with multiple experiential activities, ideas for reflection, handout, and visual masters.
