Sandy Shetler is an Extension Specialist, Educational Technology overseeing website design and database management for the MarketMaker website and the Initiative for the Development of Entrepreneurs in Agriculture (IDEA), two grant funded programs of University of Illinois Extension.
Sandy received a bachelor of science degree in home economics education and a masters of science degree in home economics resource and services from Northern Illinois University, Dekalb, IL. She completed a second masters degree in human resource education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Before joining Extension in 1988, she was a home economics teacher for seven years.
Sandy began her career with Extension as a Home Economics Adviser in Whiteside County from 1988 to 1992. In 1992 she became a Family Life Educator in the Freeport Extension Center and remained there for two years. She returned back to Whiteside County in 1995 as the Unit Leader. In 2006, she moved full-time to the Quad Cities Extension Center, working full-time with MarketMaker. (www.marketmaker.uiuc.edu)
