There are growing calls in Illinois for the Chicago Board of Trade to fix the specifications on soybean contracts. The Illinois Farm Bureau asked the economists at the University of Illinois to study the problem that has lead to an extraordinarily wide cash soybean basis. That same problem, as Todd Gleason reports, has been evident in other commodities at the C-B-O-T.
