Extension Unit Educator, 4-H & Youth
Kelly Pool earned a bachelor of science in agribusiness from Illinois State University and a master of science in public administration from the University of Illinois at Springfield.
Pool is a member of the Illinois Extension Professionals for Youth Educators (IEPYE) and the National Association of Extension 4-H Agents (NAE4-HA).
As a staff member for University of Illinois Extension, Pool is an active member of the Youth Development Team and serves on a variety of local, state and regional committees and advisory boards.
Pool is a member of the Illinois Extension Professionals for Youth Education (IEPYE) and the National Association of Extension 4-H Agents (NAE4-HA).
She has been recognized by IEPYE for State Outstanding Program Award, Early Career Service Award, the State Outstanding Team Program Award and Educational Technology Team Award.
Program Offerings
Positive Youth Development - An awareness building program for adults working with youth populations that communicates the critical elements of positive youth development. This program is specifically targeted to 4-H and Scout leaders, as well as faith based volunteer youth programs.
Don't Be Fooled By Media Messages - Workshop for youth and/or adults that generates a better understanding of the media influence on issues of body image, relationships and positive choices. Participants learn to look beyond the images in media and understand the tools and techniques that are used to create "perfection."
What Color Is Your Personality - Program for teens and adults that explores differences in personality styles and how the different types interact. Participants learn to accentuate their positive traits to improve communication with a wide variety of personalities.
Teen Leadership, Teamwork and Communication Skills - Pool offers a wide variety of opportunities for teens to more fully develop leadership, teamwork and communication skills. Key components of each program include youth ownership and strengthening youth/adult partnerships. |
