Jennifer Mowen provides leadership in developing, marketing, and evaluating programs for the Pike County Unit of University of Illinois Extension. As a County Extension Director, she markets the Extension programs, networks with other community resources, and is responsible for fiscal and facility management.
She earned a bachelor's degree in agriculture and a master's degree in economics from Western Illinois University.
Mowen has worked with University of Illinois Extension since 2000. She began her Extension career as a Community and Economic Development Educator in Pike County before assuming the County Extension Director role in February 2006. Prior to joining Extension, she served as Community Development Director in Carthage and as a graduate assistant at the Illinois Institute for Rural Affairs.
Mowen is a member of the National Association of Community Development Extension Professionals, Illinois Association of Community Development Extension Professionals,and the Western Illinois Corridor Council. She serves on the Abe Lincoln's Pike County Advisory Committee, ECHO Pike Board, LWA 14 Youth Council, and Pike County Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Committee.
