All 4-H members who are enrolled in a food skill-a-thon project area (see below) were mailed a letter explaining the skill-a-thon contest and the practice workshop.

Contest: June 14^th at the Champaign Extension Auditorium (801 N. Country Fair Drive, past Hobby Lobby)

Please remind your members to pre-register by June 1^st for the contest!

§ They will be assigned a time (start at 2:00) to come and compete in the area of their project.

§ Ease their tensions by explaining that the stations come straight from the project books- better yet, study the page son the study guide.

§ The stations are NOT difficult, they simply test the youth's knowledge in different skill settings.

Please join us at the Bement Forest Preserve Park on May 30^th for the 4-H family picnic. We ask that each family bring two dishes to share and their own table service. Drinks will be provided.

June 20^th: Horse Show at Big Creek Stables (Mt. Zion), show will start at 9 a.m.
July 5^th: Cake Decorating at the Extension office, show will start at 2 p.m.
July 6^th: Rabbit & Poultry Show at Forest Preserve Park, show will start at 9 a.m.
Public Speaking Contest at the Extension office, show will start at 7 p.m.
July 7^th: General Project Show at Forest Preserve Park, see schedule insert
July 8^th: 4-H Foundation BBQ at the First Christian Church in Monticello,
BBQ will start at 4:30 p.m.
July 27^th: Livestock Show at Champaign County Fairgrounds
