Food Collection Challenge
The Hammond 4-H Clover Kids have presented a challenge to the area 4-H Clubs to canvass their communities to fill the shelves at the local Food Pantries. The food shelves are very low at this time and additional community support is needed. 4-H Members will be soliciting the community for food donations during the month of May. In appreciation for the communities' generosity and support of the Food Drive, a "Community Soup Kitchen" will be hosted by the Hammond 4-H Clover Kids. On May 23rd, a soup supper will be served from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Hammond United Methodist Church. Members will present (1) ticket to the Community Soup Kitchen for every two items donated to the Food Pantry. Children under 10 will eat free. Food donations will be accepted at the door. Please call the Extension
office at 762-2191 for more information.
