ODDS ON RACING & BALMORAL PARK TO CO-HOST
AWARD-WINNING HARNESS RACING YOUTH LEAGUE
SUMMER CAMP
Odds On Racing and Balmoral Park are pleased to co-host the second annual horse
summer camp June 19 to June 23. The Harness Racing Youth League is a 5-day/4-
night event in which participants are given the opportunity to learn about harness racing
and caring for horses.
The format includes daily barn activities including grooming, harnessing, hitching and
driving the horses. Mixed in are games and hands-on experiences which allow for
further understanding of the horse industry.
The camp applicants should be between the ages of 11 and 13 years. No prior horse
experience is required.
To apply, an application and essay must be submitted. A fee of $150 is charged; this
fee covers all lodging and meals for the camp. Once accepted, the participant will be
given additional and medical information to complete.
Registration will take place Friday morning, June 19 at 8:30AM at Odds On Racing.
The camp will conclude after the exhibition of the HRYL participants during the races at
Balmoral Park on June 23.

4-H Opportunity
A great fieldtrip opportunity to C-U campus for 4-Hers interested in science careers, environmental studies, green technologies, natural resources, and sustainable energy!!
The Expo celebrates the formation of the University of Illinois' Institute of Natural Resource Sustainability (INRS), which unites the four state scientific surveys—the ISGS, the Illinois Natural History Survey, the Illinois Sustainable Technology Center (formerly the Waste Management Research Center), and the Illinois State Water Survey. The Expo will be held at the Natural Resources Building, 607-615 East Peabody Drive, Champaign, Illinois (the same site as the former ISGS Open House), Friday, March 13 from 9am to 4pm. and Saturday, March 14 from 10am to 3pm.

A 4-H Project Workshop designed to introduce the three natinal 4-H Mission Mandates.
Champaign and Piatt County Units are having a Mini Fair on April 18, 2009 at the Tony Noel Center at Parkland College from 9:00 a.m. to noon.
