June 8: NW Regional Master Gardener Leadership

Symposium 9am-3pm Klehm Arboretum,

Rockford, IL. Workshop is designed to encour

age interaction and collaboration between

counties and it's MGs and their coordinators.

Discussion & brainstorming activities include:

demo gardens, Help Desk, fundraising and

working with youth. Two reps. from each NW

region can sign up at no cost, addition participants,

Tazewell County Master Gardener Bus Trip

Riverwalk Park, Naperville & Morton Arboretum, Lisle

The Riverwalk has a history of development and information you

could learn from and apply to a project you have. Morton

Arboretum recently underwent tremendous additions to the

Visitor's Center and Ginkgo Café. Our group will take a guided

Tram Tour through the beautiful gardens. All garden enthusiasts,

welcome!!!

ITENERARY:

7:00 a.m. depart Morton Park District Recreation Center,

324 Detroit Avenue, Morton.

Directions from the North: Exit off 155 onto Birchwood. At the

second signal light, Turn Left onto Detroit Ave., go over railroad

tracks, turn into second driveway on the right, building has the

word Soccer and a Soccer ball on the side, the building is set

back from the road and shares driveway with Brick Oven

Restaurant. Peoria Charter Coach will meet us in the parking lot

of the Recreation Center.

10:00am arrive at Riverwalk, Jackson Street, Naperville, Ill.

History of Naperville Riverwalk Park presented by Cliff Preston

11:30am arrive at Morton Arboretum, 4100 Ill. Rt. 53, Lisle,

- Lunch at the Ginkgo Café, or picnic with your sack lunch

- Take some time to walk through the gardens

- Guided Tram Tour begins at 2:00, ending approx. at 3:15

4:30pm depart Morton Arboretum promptly at this time.

You may want to grab a snack from the Café There will be a brief

stop on the way back to Morton for food.

8:15pm return to Morton Park District Recreation Center

Please Note - you will be responsible for your lunch and evening

meal. You can bring a sack lunch and snacks. But please, no dairy

products – they are not allowed on the bus!

Payment is due at the time of registration, deadline June 10.
