4-H Kick-Off Party Held

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 29, 2009

Ogle County 4-H families celebrated the beginning of another 4-H year on October 24th at the Ogle County Fairgrounds. Sponsored by the county 4-H Youth Federation; the Kick-Off Party offered families the opportunity to meet new friends, engage in friendly competition, dine, and earn spirit award points for their local clubs. Among the activities were tug-of-war, a pumpkin decorating contest, building a scarecrow relay, decorating Halloween cookies, a scavenger hunt, and a hayride. Families traveled in small groups to each of the various activity stations. 4-H Federation members hosted stations. Everyone enjoyed a potluck dinner and roasted marshmallows by the fire.

Federation members and volunteers assisting with the event included: Jody and Lesly Diehl, Lizzi Stauffer, Polo; Jennifer Sharron, Forreston; Linda and Janet Zack, Rockford; Earl Hagemeyer, Esmond; Catherine Gallant, Melinda Charbonneau, Leaf River; Jackie Detig, Lindenwood; and Stan Eden, Oregon.
