By-Y-Badgers hold October Meeting

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 22, 2009

On October 23, 2009, the By-Y-Badgers 4-H Club held their monthly meeting. Members elected this year's club officers. This year's officers are: President – Taylor Reeverts; Vice President – Hannah Wilmarth; Secretary -- Kylie Swanson; Treasurer – Tanner Spring; Historian -- Olivia Kultgen; and Reporter – Natalie Carlson. Tyler Hanlin and Emily Hanlin will serve as junior leaders. Project enrollment forms were distributed and should be returned no later than the November meeting. Following the meeting, the 4-Her's performed an experiment called Biofuel Blast. By using bran flakes, yeast, warm water, a plastic bottle, and a balloon, members learned how cellulose and sugars in plants can be converted into fuel and how alternative energies can be used. The next meeting will be on Monday, November 9 at 7:00 pm at the United Church of Byron. Members are encouraged to bring two non-perishable food items to the meeting for People Helping People.
