CLOVER OLYMPICS HELD
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
September 24, 2009
The Clover Olympics was held on Saturday, August 1st. It was held in conjunction with the Ogle County Fair at the fairgrounds in Oregon, IL. Ogle County 4-Hers invited the public to participate in the Clover Olympics or to come and watch the fun!
Sixteen teams played six zany games each. This year's games included Gum in Pie Pan, The Shovel Run, Puzzle Build-Off, Bowling Ball Wheelbarrow, Four Legged Clover Race, and Tire Roll. Each game was a timed event. The top three teams in each age division were awarded a prize! Top three teams were determined by the lowest overall times.
The 1st place team for Division 1, ages 6-10 year olds, was the Ogle Green Thumbs 4-H Clubs; Emily Homman, Matt Homman, Jennifer Raum, and Rebecca Raum. The 2nd place team was Team Charbonneau; Isaac Charbonneau, Faith Charbonneau, Caleb Charbonneau, and Abby Charbonneau.
The 1st place team for Division 2, ages 11-14 year olds, was the Red Hot Chicks; Abigail Timm, Grace Timm, Sabrina Risley, and Keelyn Swanson. The 2nd place team was the Striking Pandas; Chris Sible, Connor Sible, Kylia Swanson, and Colin Walters.
The 1st place team for Division 3, ages 15-20 year olds, was the Air Heads; Whitney Wetzel, Brittany Hagemann, Jeffrey Rieck, and Cole Bishop. The 2nd place team was the Polo Pioneers 4-H Club; Bethany Fike, Brandon Imel, Shane Imel, and Luke Miller.
