4-H BOWLING CHAMPIONS NAMED

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 10, 2008

The championship round of the 2008 Ogle County 4-H Bowling Tournament was held on March 29th at Polo Bowl. Seven qualifying teams bowled to determine the first place winners in both the junior division (ages 6-13) and senior division (ages 14 and up).

The qualifying rounds were held in February and March at bowling centers throughout the county. Thank you to the bowling centers for their continued support: Chelle-Crest Lanes, Rochelle; Polo Bowl; Town & Country Lanes, Mount Morris; and T-Byrd Lanes, Rochelle. Over 200 youth bowled in this year's event.

Championship Junior Teams

1st Place – By-Y-Badgers 4-H Club, Byron (477 pins)

  • Tyler Hanlin, Connor Sible, Jim Overmyer

2nd Place – By-Y-Badgers 4-H Club, Byron (428 pins)

  • Hannah Wilmarth, Emily Hanlin, Christopher Sible

Championship Senior Teams

1st Place – Ogle Jolly 4-H Club, Stillman Valley (810 pins)

  • Joel Detig, Kevin Schabacker, Ethan Koch

2nd Place – Forreston Friskies 4-H Club, Forreston (728 pins)

  • Cassie Smith, Dylan Joens, Kayla Rager

3rd Place – Bits 'N Reins 4-H Club, (724 pins)

  • Jackie Detig, Allison Reed, Garrett Koch

Scores at the qualifying bowl determined individual high games and high series winners.

Winners were:

Jr. High Game Sarah Rademacher, Pine Creek Valley 4-H Club – 139 pins

Jr. High Series Nathan Keys, Hub Hickory Nuts 4-H Club – 217 pins

Sr. High Game Richie King, Hub Hickory Nuts 4-H Club – 180 pins

Sr. High Series Cassie Smith, Forreston Friskies 4-H Club – 308 pins
