Record Book Guidelines

4-H Record Books should be bound so that record forms appear in the following order:

This year's activity record.

This year's project records.

Project records should be bound in alphabetical order by project area. Project areas are things like: aerospace, beef, clothing, foods, small engines, and visual arts. Do not alphabetize specific project units. As an example, the foods project "Tricks For Treats" would not be alphbetized under "T." It would be alphabetized under "F" for "Foods."

If animal record forms are completed, they should be placed right behind the corresponding project records.
Activity records from previous years.

Activity records should be placed in chronological order with the most recent appearing on top.

Project records from previous years.
Project records from previous years should be bound alphabetically by project area just like "this year's." Within a project area, records should be bound chronologically with the most recent at the top. For example:

Aerospace
2003-2004 project record
2002-2003 project record
2001-2002 project record

Beef
2002-2003 project record
2001-2002 project record

Clothing
2003-2004 project record

If animal record forms are completed, they should be placed right behind the corresponding project record.
