The 4-H Fair Horse Committee is planning two ride nights to be held at the Ogle County Fairgrounds. The ride nights are open to all Ogle County 4-Hers and their current year project animals who plan on participating in the 4-H or Junior Horse Show at this year's Ogle County Fair. The ride nights will be held Tuesday, June 9th and Tuesday, July 21st from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. General aspects of showing at the fair will be covered one night and speed events will be covered the other. Ogle County Speed Series – Fundraiser for a permanent horse barn at the fairgrounds. These shows are 60% payback.

Pegasus Special Riders of Oregon, IL is a not-for-profit organization providing horse assisted activities to people with special needs. They will be hosting an Open Horse Show during the Ogle County Fair on Sunday, August 2, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. The entry fee to participate is $4.00. Bits 'N Reins 4-H Club of Ogle County is having their 24th Annual Open Horse Show on June 27th & 28th, 2009. Start time for both days are 9:00 a.m. June 27th is English day starting the morning out with some jumping classes and ending with some fun classes. June 28th is Western day starting the morning out with halter classes and ending the day with speed classes. Both days we also offer classes in showmanship, equitation/horsemanship, pleasure and trail classes.
