LAMB CAMP

The Forreston Sheep Association is having a Lamb Camp on Saturday, May 3 at the Stephenson County Fairgrounds in Freeport. Check-In will be from 8:30-9:00 with activities beginning at 9:00 a.m. Activities will include sheep care and feeding overview, fitting your lamb, lunch (provided), Showmanship workshop, Showmanship contest, prizes and lamb camp graduation. Lamb Camp is open to any age participant. Fitting groups will be split by breed with breeding sheep and market lamb groups. Showmanship groups will be split by experience. Participants must be interested in showing sheep. There is no fee for the clinic. Participants can bring a clean lamb and their own equipment (trimming stand, card, brush, bucket, soap, hand shears, clippers with blades, curry comb, halter, etc.) If the participant does not bring equipment or a lamb, equipment and practice lambs will be provided. Registration is required. Registration forms can be obtained at the Extension Office or by calling 815-563-4543. Registration forms are due by April 25th.

DOG OBEDIENCE CLASSES

There will be Dog Obedience Classes held at the Ogle County Fairgrounds starting with registration on Tuesday, April 15th. Classes will run for 8 weeks starting the following week. For more information please call 732-2338, 732-4402 or 973-0212. Cost is $20 for 4-H & Jr. classes; $40 for all others.

4-H LLAMA-O-RAMA FAMILY DAY

The Effingham County 4-H Llama Leaders will be hosting a Family Day on Saturday, June 21, 2008 from 8:30 am - 4:00 pm. The event will be held at The Ol' Ring Place ~ Larry & Jo Ring at 13956 E 1st Ave. ~ Mason, IL 62443

It will be a day of fun llama events for the whole 4-H family! Bring your own llamas and pens or 35 llamas will be available to use for games, hikes and activities. There is a $5.00 registration per person (includes lunch and craft supplies) The Registration Deadline is June 9, 2008 Afternoon events from 1:00 - 4:00 pm are FREE!

SHOW WETHER GOATS & 4-H DOE SALE

On Saturday, April 5th, the "All the Glory" sale will be held at the Lee County Fairgrounds in Amboy. Viewing of the animals is from 8:00 to 12:00 p.m. and the sale will start at 1:00 p.m. For more information and a list of consignors you can go to the website http://wwwseamhasboergoats.com

WESTERN ILLINOIS UNIVERSITY CLUB LAMB SALE

The first annual lamb sale will be April 12, 2008 at the WIU Livestock Center in Macomb. The Sale will begin at 4 p.m. Over 30 head will be offered!
