The next Ogle County 4-H Leaders' Meeting will be held on April 28 from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Oregon Coliseum. All clubs are asked to have at least one leader in attendance. This is an important meeting and will cover fair and records issues. Additionally, fair books will be distributed.
4-H CAMP '08
There is still time to sign up for 4-H camp, but space is limited and camp is filling up fast. Camp is set for June 9-13 at Camp White Eagle in Leaf River. This week of camp is open to all youth, ages 8-15, by the start of camp. The week is co-sponsored by Stephenson, Ogle, and Lee Counties. 4-H membership is not required. Bring friends!
Camp week will run from Monday to Friday again this year and will feature all of the zany fun and adventure that a kid can handle. Be ready for all of the rock climbing, archery, swimming, river walks, nature studies, arts and crafts, games, hiking, and crate stacking challenges that the camp staff can dish out. ...And anticipate fantastic counselor-planned evening activities, too!
Camp applications are available in the Extension office and on-line at www.extension.uiuc.edu/ogle. Sign up now.
Whiteside County's 4-H Camp week is the week after ours. If you can't attend our week, but the next week is open, consider camping with them!
PLEASE SAVE PAPER TOWEL TUBES!!
For one of the activities planned for Wilderness Day, we need empty paper towel tubes or wrapping paper tubes! We need your help in collecting enough of these for our program. You may bring your tubes to the Extension Office any time from now till June 30th.
4-H SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT
New plans are underway to schedule this years 4-H Softball Tournament sometime in June or July! Leaders will be receiving information soon about the tournament and some of the changes that will take place. We are looking to schedule the morning for clubs who want to play for fun and only play two games and head home. The afternoon will be for teams who wish to play tournament style. Information will be collected from clubs to decide which game they would rather play. Keep watching for more details and rule changes!!
