What is Horse Bowl? The teams study all types of facts, information and all aspects of working with horses and then compete against other teams in answering questions presented to them. The team will be having practices on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. at the River Valley Complex. Anyone interested in horses is welcome to attend the practices. It is not required that you own a horse. If you would like more information contact Horse Bowl coach, Gretchen Johnson, at 742-1655.

DRILL TEAM NEWS

With summer right around the corner, the Ogle County 4-H Horse Drill Team is inviting any 4-H member who needs a reason to ride their horse to an informational meeting on January 13th at 3:00 at St. Patrick Learning Center, 903 Caron Road, Rochelle, IL. The drill team has performed at numerous drill team competitions, the Northern Illinois Horse Fest, and local parades in the past, and would love to have some new members join the fun!

The drill team is open to any county 4-H member who was 8 years old by September 1, 2007. You don't have to be enrolled in the horse project to be a member of the drill team. It doesn't matter what type of horse you have English or Western -- horse or pony – show, trail or backyard horse. However, you must be able to control the horse at a walk, trot and canter. The Drill team coach is Eric Fishel. For more information, contact him or Sandy Fishel at 440-7365 or the Ogle County 4-H Extension office at 732-2191.
