Throughout the spring and summer, the 4-H Federation has continued to explore agriculture.

In April, members learned about a wide variety of agricultural careers from DeKalb County Farm Bureau Ag Literacy Coordinator, Rhodora Collins. At the May meeting, members visited a horse farm in Grand Detour where they learned about the care and training of long distance race horses. In June, the group toured Nordman's Beef Feedlot in Oregon. The ag study will wrap up on July 26 with a tour of the John Deere Historic Site in Grand Detour.

In addition to learning about agriculture, Federation members have been busy planning the Cloverbud Party and Tea Party for this year's fair. Members also assisted in various ways with Wilderness Day!

Elections to determine the '07-'08 officer team will happen at the July meeting. There will be no August meeting, but the first meeting of the new year will be on September 20^th.
