There are worms in our sewers and they're trying to save the world.
In a brand-new science project from U of I Extension, Secret Agent Worms, Jane Blonde and Napoleon Soil, are on a mission to explore the movement of polluted run-off into our storm sewers. Students learn alongside Jane and Napoleon, how sewers can carry pollutants to our lakes, rivers, and wetlands.
This hands-on science kit includes a teacher's guide, 15 student booklets, a full-color poster, six student activity sheets, and all of the supplies needed to create a tabletop "City of Ooze." The kit is available on a loan basis. Loan periods are flexible.
All interested classrooms in a particular school building are asked to coordinate their schedules and share the kit. Contact the Extension office to make your kit reservations.
