Insect Exploration Kit

This kit is comprised of four different activities focused on insect investigation. The first activity teaches members all about insect characteristics. The second addresses the various life cycles of insects. The third activity teaches members the proper steps for collecting insects they wish to include in collections while considering when collection is appropriate and why insects are important to humankind. The final activity provides members with practice at identifying and naming insects. The lessons are designed to build on one another, but may stand alone with minor adaptation. Complete lessons and handout masters are included.

All interested classrooms in a particular school building are asked to coordinate their schedules and share the kit. Loan periods are flexible. Contact the Extension office to make your kit reservations.

Teachers are responsible for kit transportation to and from the Extension office.
