Gifts of Gold

This set of instructional materials for grades K - 3 promises to sow the seeds of history, science, culture, crafts and nutrition through one of the world's most miraculous plants--corn.

Each of the five lessons unfolds easy to learn, enjoyable activities about people, their foods, agricultural sciences, songs, and stories. Never mind that you never gave corn a second thought in the past. You will find this set of materials informative, fun for children and bright change from traditional ideas. Family corn-ers complement the materials so that kids and parents can participate in additional learning experiences at home.

The packaged kit contains a high-impact video tape, software games, a group activity guide, experiential activities, stories, and songs in a mix or match lesson format.

Interested classrooms in a particular building are asked to coordinate their schedules and borrow the kit together. Loan periods are flexible. Reserve the project kit by calling the Extension office. Teachers are responsible for kit transportation to and from the Extension office.

This is a fantastic kit to utilize during farm or harvest studies!
