4-H Hand-Washing Experiences

Unsafe food results, most often, when people with dirty hands contaminate perfectly good food by spreading diseases. Illnesses are also spread by unclean hands. Learning to wash hands frequently and effectively is something that can be learned early and will go a long way in preventing illness.

Teach your students to wash their hands with skill! Check out the "4-H Hand-washing Activity Kit" and lead your students through a simple activity that will show them just how clean their hands are really getting when they wash.

The "4-H Hand-washing Activity Kit" contains all of the supplies, equipment, and directions you'll need to conduct the activity. The activity will take approximately 30 - 45 minutes. Interested classrooms in a particular building are asked to coordinate their schedules and borrow the kit together. Reserve the kit by calling the Extension office.

Teachers are responsible for kit transportation to and from the Extension office.
