Just how old is old? Are all older people the same? Students will explore these questions and more. Students consider the differences between older adults "inside" and "out." Through hands-on experience, teach your students how they can discover how sensory changes can impact older people's lives and what they can do to help insure that their bodies will keep up with them when they, themselves, grow "older."
The "Walk In My Shoes Activity Kit" contains all of the supplies, equipment, and directions you'll need to conduct the activity. The activity will take approximately an hour to complete.
Interested classrooms in a particular building are asked to coordinate their schedules and borrow the kit together. Reserve the kit by calling the Extension office. Then, complete the appropriate sections of the accompanying registration form and return it.
Teachers are responsible for kit transportation to and from the Extension office.
