The University of Illinois Extension's Local Government, Information & Education Network (LGIEN), and the Illinois Association of County Board Members and Commissioners (IACBMC) have been hosting County Official workshops since 1982. With the ability to attend these sessions by teleconference, our local government officials are able to learn valuable information without having to leave their counties. Credits are earned for each session attended, accumulating toward a Certified County Official certification. Moultrie County Board member Ron White, received his County Official Certification this past year, and he plans to work toward completing the second level.
Between August 2006 and February 2007, University of Illinois Extension facilitated a series of visioning sessions for the Douglas County Departmental Administrators. A formal Strategic Vision Plan was developed out of these sessions which identified priority goals, objectives and action strategies. Extension will continue to offer technical assistance as needed with implementation of the plan.
