Stephanie Porter

Extension Educator, Natural Resources

Stephanie Porter just recently started working at the Montgomery County Extension office as the Natural Resources/Agriculture Educator. Her degrees include a Bachelor's in Crop Science (Plant Protection) and Master's in Plant Pathology (Plant Diagnostics) from the University of Illinois. Porter was the recipient of the Orville Bentley Undergraduate Research Award, Jonathan Baldwin Turner Undergraduate Research scholarship, and the O.S. Carman Scholarship.

Porter has experience with corn and soybean pathology research, Crop scouting/soil testing and consulting, the Soil and Water Conservation District, and has worked at the University of Illinois Plant Clinic/Plant Diagnostics for the last 6 years. She will continue to work at least one day a week at the Plant Clinic, with a focus on the Soybean Rust Sentinel Plot Program.
