The Montgomery County Extension office gives residents a local link to the University of Illinois. Educators provide training and expertise in a variety of areas such as agriculture, economic development, agricultural literacy, family nutrition, natural resources and gardening. In addition, the 4-H program reaches out to the youth in Montgomery County through club work and community service. University of Illinois Extension provides educational programs and unbiased research-based information to help Illinois residents improve their quality of life, develop skills, and solve problems by "helping you put knowledge to work."

Montgomery County Master Gardeners will be offering a Pork Patty Lunch on August 1 at CNP/Montgomery Realty plaza in Hillsboro. Proceeds will benefit Farmer's Institute. Cost of the meal is $5 with one sandwich, or $7 with two sandwiches.
