What is the correct portion size of a pork chop? What does saute' mean? What are lentils? How much exercise do I need? What is the importance of the correct temperature for cooking and storing food?

These are just a few of the important food, nutrition & safety lessons which will be taught during the Youth Cooking School sessions. The week-long sessions are open to all youth ages 9 to 12. The participants learn through actual food preparation and group activities. Fee: $50/student. Sessions are from 9 a.m. - noon and from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. Call 939-3434 to register for the week of fun cooking!

June 9 - 13: Columbia High School Home Economics Room, Columbia

June 16 - 20: Columbia High School Home Economics Room, Columbia

June 23 - 27: Valmeyer High School Home Economics Room, Valmeyer

***June 30 - July 3:Immanuel Lutheran Church, Waterloo

July 7 - 11: Immanuel Lutheran Church, Waterloo

July 14 - 18: Immanuel Lutheran Church, Waterloo

***Advanced session for 12-14 year old children that have previously attended a Youth Cooking School session.
