Mission

Mercer EDP facilitates community and economic development for Mercer County residents and businesses.

Vision

We seek to integrate social and economic goals in order to make a more powerful impact for community change and revitalization. Possessing an innovative spirit, Mercer EDP is interested in projects that meet long-term community outcomes and result in collective gain. Our four program focus areas are:

Economic Development

Recognizing the importance of economic health for a community, a comprehensive program involves business retention and expansion, new business attraction and development, and workforce development. Expansion of the housing market that provides single family affordable housing units and available housing for moderate income residents and potential residents is a priority.

Tourism

Recognizing that historical and scenic assets of the County represent strengths that have not been fully developed, new and renewed visitor interest is possible through project developments and entry of new retail businesses into the market.

Community Responsibility

Recognizing that ‘community’ implies that people have some shared values and interests arising from a common locality, community pride and optimism for the future results from people working together in a positive manner.

Stewardship

Effectively manage resources to ensure long-term viability of Mercer EDP.
