    McLean County 4-H is the largest 4-H Show in the nation with over 11,000 4-H entries each year. McLean County partners with the local Fair Association to jointly host the McLean County Fair.     Locally, Barn Keepers (formerly known as the McLean County Barn Group) was formed to promote the documentation, restoration and preservation of these vanishing landmarks of our rural countryside.

    -A joint effort by the food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters in McLean County, Illinois to collect and distribute excess food to the needy.

  • McLean County Museum of History, "A Satisfying Taste: Exploring our Food Experience"
    An upcoming food history exhibit at the McLean County Museum of History, "A Satisfying Taste: Exploring our Food Experience" will be a must see! The museum is located at 200 N. Main Street in Bloomington. The exhibit is scheduled to open in 2009. Robert Dirks, guest curator, under the direction of Susan Hartzold, curator for the museum, has spoken with numerous people in McLean County to collect the data he needs for the major exhibit scheduled to open in 2009. It will tell the story of local food habits from about 1830 to the beginning of the 21st century. It will explore how local food and drink changed in response to regional, national, and international influences and how developments in McLean County affected eating and drinking well beyond its borders.

  • Small Business Development Center at Illinois State University
    The McLean County Small Business Development Center (SBDC) was established in March 2005 to help entrepreneurs start a new business or expand or improve existing business. The SBDC offers one-on-one confidential counseling for all phases of business activities. We are here to help local small businesses be in business for themselves, but not by themselves.
